God

time

June 20, 2017

time.

so quick and swift.

we all know it's there, but it goes as unnoticed as ever.

"i'll do it later" or, "i don't have time right now" or, "i'll have time later" are all phrases we use too commonly.

but, what if there isn't time later?

not to sound pessimistic, but we could all die at any second. Jesus could come any minute from now. we don't know if we will have time later because we don't know if there will even be a later.

if you don't have time, make time. make time to do the important things first: like spending more time with God, or with your family.

don't say you'll do it later, do it now (unless, you like, actually have to do it later and can't do it now). ;)

chow, y'all.

fairytales

in a fairytale

June 18, 2017

oh, how i wish to fly

off to a magic place

where unicorns are real

and where a pretty face

is not required

to be beautiful

in a fairytale

is where i wish to be

in a fairytale

where i can just be me

where perfectness is not needed

where i'll live and thrive

on sunshine

and grassy hills of flowers

and feast with kings and princesses

and many other splendors

'cause in a fairytale

is where i wish to be

heroes

everyday heroes

June 08, 2017

the fireman.

the police officer.

the paramedic.

the surgeon.

all of these people are considered heroes; the people keeping the world on it's feet. and, really, they are. they serve and protect this world full of misfortune and danger - it's what they do.

but have you considered the everyday heroes; the people who didn't train for years to be on a force or work in a hospital?

they're all hidden in plain site.

have you considered the heroes you pass every day with a nod and a smile; the small grocery store owner who gives a struggling family their groceries for free; the couple who fosters and broken child in their loving arms; the little girl who gives her spending money to the women's pregnancy center for her AWANA project?

they're all heroes, too; the teen who skips a special event to visit his grandmother in the nursing home; the boy who sits next to someone who is sitting alone in the cafeteria; the man who shares his Bible with the homeless man in the park.

all these little things, the kind and gentle gestures, show the heart of a hero.

so, let's all appreciate not only the heroes saving lives, but the heroes showing kindness in our everyday lives.

beauty

the beauty of words

June 07, 2017

words are the foundation of the communication of mankind. without words, how would we speak up for what is right? how would we share our stories with people all across the globe who are struggling?

words are beautiful.

and to even be able to imagine something like letters, or words, or speech, would take a very complex mind.

that's how complex God's mind is.

if you really think about it, would you have been able to come up with every language of every country? Chinese, Arabic, or English? French, Italian, or Spanish?

only a mind as complex as our Lord's would be even able to imagine words or languages.

that's the beauty of words.
